The wind was blowing, the breeze catching Laura’s hair and dress. It was a Saturday afternoon, and while the forecast called for strong winds, the day could not have felt more perfect! We explored in the middle of the Sonoita countryside, and for that moment there was not another care in the world. All focus was on Laura and Erik that day. And the tenderness and love they shared was so apparent and such a joy to capture! Also joining us was Laura and Erik’s two pups, Annie (the Corgie) and Wilbur (the pug), and their two family horses, Kitty and Gem. It’s not everyday that happens and it was such a delight!!

What made the day even better, though, was how much we got to learn about Laura and Erik. We were initially surprised to learn that the horses didn’t belong to Laura but instead, to Erik, and that Erik used to be a calf roper in the rodeo! Consider us impressed! And not only is Erik extremely gifted (we’re pretty sure he’s an animal whisperer), but he’s also incredibly lucky to be marrying the sweetest gal ever because recently on Laura’s birthday, she let him take home a brand new truck(!!!). How cool, right?! We don’t think many guys get to brag about that! Even more special, though, was how Erik planned the entire proposal. We won’t spill the beans on that because we have a feeling a lot of family and friends are going to love hearing it from them, so be sure to message the two of them and ask! 😉

Laura and Erik, thank you for introducing us to your fur babies and letting us hang out with you guys for the day! We’re so excited to be celebrating your wedding at Ventana Canyon in a couple of months and we absolutely cannot wait! And a special thanks to Erik’s cousin, Emily, who was the other animal whisperer at our session. We couldn’t have done it without her!!!
