Ligia and Arturo’s Sentinel Peak and Downtown Tucson engagement session was just what our weekend needed. Anytime we’re shooting in the heat, we cross our fingers and hope that on the day of our session that the weather cools just a little bit. As you might have already guessed, Arizona gets HOT around here! Thankfully, we had some luck and cooler weather is exactly what we got. As it turns out, Ligia and Arturo’s engagement session fell on the first day of Fall – the best season there is! 😉 And we had a wonderful afternoon hanging out with these two and getting to know a lot more about them!

After chatting about their recent trip to Costa Rica together, we found out that Ligia was actually born and raised there while Arturo grew up in Nogales. And chance brought them together through mutual friends while they both attended the University of Arizona. After college, Arturo moved away for two years and they continued a long distance relationship – so amazing! We are in total awe and are so inspired by these two!

Another favorite of ours was hearing about their surprise proposal! Arturo endearingly made plans to propose to Ligia twice during a dinner date, in which both times Ligia got sick and Arturo decided to wait. It was after the second time (and a month into holding onto the ring) that Arturo finally got tired of waiting. And he decided to propose anyway! And yes, the surprise – and wait – was every bit worth it!

Ligia and Arturo are just so sweet together and so fun to have in front of our cameras. We zipped around town together, first starting in downtown Tucson and finally ending our night on the top of ‘A’ Mountain at Sentinel Peak. Their engagement session was an all around blast and Bryan and I are thrilled to be capturing their wedding day next April at Omni National Resort. It’s always a privilege to be able to share in this new season of life with our brides and grooms and we certainly don’t take that for granted!
