Gabby and Cory’s Horseshoe Bend proposal and destination engagement photos at Antelope Canyon was such a sweet and delightful surprise. Gabby and Cory came to us in Arizona all the way from Canada. And when Gabby reached out to us with an adventurous sweetheart session in mind, we were of course totally game! Our hearts are always open to road trips, adventure, and romance-filled sessions. Little did we know, Cory had a little surprise for us all! He had decided that this would be the perfect opportunity to propose to his girlfriend, Gabby!
The day started with plans for us to first visit Antelope Canyon, which is a slot canyon that was formed by millions of years of wind and water erosion. It lies on Navajo land east of Page, AZ and each time we see it, it is just as spectacular as we last remember it. We wandered through the magnificent smooth and flowing shaped sandstone rocks and after our time there, we had the pleasure of grabbing Chinese food with Gabby and Cory (a couple after our own hearts!) and learning all about their life in Newfoundland and Labrador.
Gabby and Cory grew up in the same small town of Labrador City, population of 15,000. But it wasn’t until recently that they met through a mutual friend and fell in love. Hearing Cory gush about Gabby and the life that they now share together was so endearing. We connected over work and our past travels, and we loved hearing about how Gabby’s adventurous spirit also taught Cory to enjoy traveling, convinced him to adopt two ridiculously adorable dogs, and – hilariously – how to Uber.
We later ended our evening together at Horseshoe Bend, where we got to snap a few more photos of Gabby and Cory together at sunset. Seeing these two laugh and love on each other next to the magnificent view of Horseshoe Bend makes the whole day feel so surreal. Add to that, Cory proposed to Gabby with the most beautiful double halo engagement ring that we couldn’t get enough of! We probably gushed over it way too many times. Didn’t Cory do an amazing job though?!
After we said our sweet goodbyes that night, we left for our six hour journey back home – a little sad that we already had to leave but with our hearts full of gratitude. We are so blessed in that this year has brought so many sweet couples into our lives. We cherish every friendship and every opportunity that we get to love on and serve others. Gabby and Cory, thank you for letting us be a small part of this wonderful journey you two share together. We feel so honored and we hope years from now, you’ll look back at these photos fondly. We can’t wait to see what the future has in store for you two and we most definitely can’t wait to hear about this African wedding you’re dreaming up!
We hope you enjoy our favorites from this sweet session! Antelope Canyon photos are always beautiful but we think some of our best-loved Antelope Canyon engagement photos just might be with Gabby and Cory!
