These sweet and intimate desert engagement pictures in Tucson prove that the desert makes for the most beautiful backdrops for engagement sessions. We’re constantly reminded again and again just how lucky we are that we get to call this place home!

And one of our favorite parts about what we do, other than being able to shoot in the desert, is being able to learn about our couples’ stories and sharing in their journeys as they embark on one of the greatest adventures in life! Today, we’re in for a real treat because we get to share Ashley and Kevin’s story with you! It is arguably one of our favorite stories yet and one that we don’t think we could ever grow tired of telling. These two met half way across the world, and in such a fun and unique way!

When Ashley first reached out to us, she explained that they were new to the area and were hoping that we could give them a few suggestions on desert engagement spots in Tucson. No problem, Ashley! As we chatted, we got to learn more about what Ashley and Kevin do and how they met and fell in love!

It turns out, they found one another at a bar… in Korea! Ashley and Kevin are both part of the Air Force and were both deployed at the time. While at a bar, Kevin describes the moment as, “she walked in and, well… that was it” – so sweet!! Over New Years Eve and while on vacation last year, Kevin then planned the sweetest surprise proposal. And of course we loved hearing about that story, too! For the Cliff Notes version, the two of them joined Ashley’s parents during a trip to Thailand, and it involved a beach, a ring, and Kevin on crutches. Getting to spend time with Ashley and Kevin together was so much fun for us! They are such a joyful couple, full of smiles and laughter, despite the colder weather and a dress and steamer mishap (yikes!). These two smiled through it all and totally rocked their engagement session! We just know that their wedding day is going to be beautiful!! And guys, get this… it’s going to be at a plantation in Charleston, SC! Amazing, right?! And the final detail that totally makes our hopeless romantic hearts flutter? Ashley and Kevin had a painting done of the bar at which they met. Say it with us now… Awww!!!

Ashley and Kevin, it was such an honor and a joy for us to be able to do this for you! It’s obvious when we’re around you two that you are an amazing pair. We are so incredibly thrilled for you guys and we can’t wait to see and hear about all of the great things that will happen for you both in this next year!!
