Farmhouse Christmas Decor

Friends, we’re less than a week out from Christmas, and that has gotten us SO giddy! Not just because this time of the year always feels so magical, but also because we’ve got two not-so-little boys that we get to share in the holiday spirit with!!! That means Red, our Elf on the Shelf, made his annual debut, and we’re finding fun, new Christmas traditions to start with them as well as keeping up with the old ones! Some of the things we’ve already checked off our list this year is our family trip to Winterhaven, a night of hot cocoa and classic Christmas movies, our advent calendar, and of course we can’t forget about decorating the Christmas tree! This year Anh picked a theme for the tree and Bryan and the boys did most of the decorating!! And they did such a beautiful job that we couldn’t resist sharing a few snaps of their hard work along with photos of the rest of our home decked out with farmhouse Christmas decor!!

We decided to go with a classic red, black, and white plaid themed Christmas for our tree and most of the decor we already had on hand from previous years. We LOVE having a very full tree, so we made sure to include lots of ornaments. Faux berries and twigs, red and white ornament balls, cute skis that we found from Target’s dollar bin area, black craft tags that were from Hobby Lobby (a set of 25 for $4!), and candy canes and ribbon all adorn our 7’ flocked Christmas tree and we’re OBSESSED with the way it turned out! So much so that we might consider leaving our tree up year round…???? And the best part? After the tree was finished, we only had to remind Aiden a handful of times that the tree was off limits to him (we have several glass ornaments that he was especially drawn to and he loved to redecorate the tree when no one was looking… haha!). We had so much fun decorating and we hope you you enjoy these pictures of the boys’ tree along with a tour of the rest of our farmhouse inspired home!

(he insisted on taking a picture with the sled… :))
